About Stanley

Stanley Edward is a professional speaker, writer, diversity educator, and transpersonal coach, helping people of all genders ditch conformity so they can thrive in personal & professional relationships, career, creativity, and spirituality. He's a U.S. Army combat veteran who identifies as genderqueer and gay, and has an affinity for high heels, the oxford comma, non-binary fashion, and inflicting cognitive dissonance on everyone who could use some.

A two-tour Iraq combat veteran with the U.S. Army Reserve and military member for 20+ years, Stanley has served both during “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and after its repeal. During his military career he’s worked as military police, a broadcast journalist, a Public Affairs Chief, and an Equal Opportunity Advisor. Over the last 20 years, he has served in both civilian and military leadership roles for teams and organizations ranging from 5 to 2,000 people. Stanley is an Energy Leadership Index™ Master Practitioner (ELI-MP) with the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), holds Department of Defense certifications in equal opportunity practice, training, small group facilitation, and mediation, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Pace University in New York City. He is a professional metaphysical practitioner through the International Metaphysical Ministry (I.M.M.), earned his Bachelor of Metaphysical Science (B.Msc.) from the University of Metaphysics, and is a certified Soul Realignment® Practitioner.

Stanley’s passions for equality, social justice, and facilitating empowerment in creative self-expression stem from his life experiences. He grew up and served in leadership in fundamentalist Christian communities, largely unwelcoming toward LGBTQIA+ people. After many years of attempting to change his sexual orientation through individual and group programs, Stanley finally spent more than a year studying, praying, and researching Greek and Hebrew Biblical texts to reconcile his faith and sexuality at age 25. Reinvigorated by his newfound freedom and passion for faith and life, he moved to Los Angeles and volunteered with LGBTQIA+ faith communities, focused on facilitating similar reconciliation and reconnection between ostracized LGBTQ people and their faith. He’s since lived in New York City, Virginia, and Washington, DC.

Stanley loves speaking and working with creatives, professionals, teams, and nonconformers of all kinds as they gain deeper connection with their passions and purpose, finding new ways to ditch conformity to experience fulfillment in life, leadership, creativity, and spirituality.
