Cristin Downs

I'm Cristin Downs, a career pivot coach for experienced professionals, people who've built real careers and hit a point where something has to change.

My clients come from all over: higher education, K-12, healthcare, nonprofits, the arts, pharma, finance, marketing, media, and more. What they have in common is that they've already tried to figure this out alone and learned that this particular problem requires more than a spreadsheet and a lot of hope.

People typically work with me when they need to change careers or industries, recover from a layoff, find a new job at the right level, start a business, or get their existing work more aligned with the life they're actually living. The work is practical: strategy, resumes, LinkedIn, interview prep, offer evaluation. Everything that needs to happen actually gets done.

I came to this work the long way. I've held more than 40 jobs across more than a dozen industries including insurance, healthcare, architectural lighting, education, entertainment, nonprofits, manufacturing, and more. I've been a talent sourcer, a recruiter, a hiring manager, and I've sat on more hiring committees than I can count. Most of my formative professional experience was in the theatre, and I bring that energy to everything I do.

I work with clients one-to-one, in structured packages, and asynchronously. Most people find me through a referral, someone who's been through it sends them my way.
